Syncmaster Sa300 No Signal

Problem with Samsung SyncMaster SA300 24' (LS24A300BS/EN). When no cable was attached, it seemed to work great, with a 'No signal' message floating across the screen. As soon as a cable with signal was passed however, the screen would go completely black (no backlighting). The problem was fixed with a firmware update available on Samsungs. Switching from Analog to Digital on Samsung Monitor Syncmaster 216bw. I was wondering if there was a way to switch from the analog signal I have now to a digital signal for my Samsung Syncmaster 216bw monitor? I read somewhere that this will give me better quality and was wondering if anybody could help me? No pins around the slot.

'No Signal' from your TV typically means that the TV is not getting a signal.
