Hi all,
I'm generally new to the game, and in the not-to-distant future I was going to be playing private games with two friends, likely 'Wings of Liberty' as that's what they both own.
I'm not finding the Multiplayer>Custom menu very intuitive, and I'm hoping you all can help clarify something for me: How exactly do I create a Private game?
I change the filter to 'Blizzard Maps,' select the map I want and create the game. It seems to download the map the first time (so I assume the game does not actually 'ship' with all it's maps???), and then once in the Lobby, I click 'Open to Public' to remove that option.
Yet random people can still join the game...
I assume I'd invite my friend(s) by clicking 'Add Player,' but there must be a way to make the game private so randoms can not join.
Thanks!
I click 'Open to Public' to remove that option.

If you hit that button then it allows random people to join the game. You are doing everything else right.

Thanks for the reply!
That's the thing though, when I first went to set up a game, just to see how it works, I did _not_ click 'open to public,' and randoms were joining...
Add friends to party (Plus button at the top right corner near your portrait). It will be easier to create multiple games this way.

Did you hit create game or join game on the map selection screen? If you hit join than that button will be auto enabled. If you hit create than what I said above goes.

Thanks. Will Party members automatically follow me into a game lobby I create?

Starcraft 2 Create Lobby

Did you hit create game or join game on the map selection screen? If you hit join than that button will be auto enabled. If you hit create than what I said above goes.
Create game, I immediately quit since I didn't want to actually play a game, and tried again. Same thing happened.
So I tried again, but this time checked the 'Open to Public' button. And again people were joining...
The question was answered already above, but I just wanted to say:
I'm REALLY pleased to see so many new players joining SC2 ;)
Welcome to SC2! GL HF!
If you hit create game and after that nothing else and random people are still joining then it is a bug.

You probably hit the 'JOIN' button instead of the 'CREATE' one, which makes you join a public lobby of that game.
@Rescarve Thanks kindly for the replies!

I'm afraid I did not. Created my own game, and in the lobby, randoms started joining.
That's why the next time I tried I went and hit the 'Open to Public' button, thinking then that if game's started public and joinable first, this must be the way to make it private.

Click 'Create game', do NOT click 'Open to public'.
When you create a game, it's private by default, clicking open to public makes it open to public (obvious from the name), doing nothing keeps it private.

I made a video because I wasn't doing anything else. It shows you how to make the private game you were looking for.

Much appreciated, @Rescarve. I shall watch the above on my lunch.

Impossible unless you linked the lobby in chat or invited people.

Impossible.

It happened, which surprised me and had me retry, this time clicking 'Open to Public' thinking then that all Custom games started Public.
As someone else mentioned above, it must have been a bug.
Update: In response to your edit, I did not invite anyone and I do not know how to link the Lobby in Chat.

Again, thanks kindly for the video, @Rescarve. Just watched it, and yes, that's what I did and some random joined it.
So must have been a bug.
